          Abstract

          En la investigación se evaluó el comportamiento productivo de bovinos (Bos taurus), por efecto de la adición del probiótico natural en la alimentación, los mismos que fueron comparados con un tratamiento control, distribuidos en un Diseño Completamente al Azar, evaluándose diferentes variables productivas durante 62 días de dosificación. Los animales fueron alimentados: T S: forraje (ray grass) 13 Kg MS, concentrado 5 Kg como dieta base, T1: dieta base más 25 g probiótico natural, T2: dieta base más 50 g probiótico natural, T3: dieta base más 75 g probiótico natural, T4: dieta base más 100 g probiótico natural. El pasto administrado fue de 15 kg MS/vaca/día y la calidad nutritiva del pasto de 26.1% PC, 1.50 ENL Mcal/Kg, 36.4% FDN, 36.4 Mcal/Kg ENM, respecto al concentrado se ofertó 5 kg cuya calidad nutritiva fue 13.1% PC, 1.72 Mcal/Kg, 13% FDN, 7.7% FDA. Se determinó la mejor producción de leche (P<0.05) con 26.76±0.80L de leche/vaca/día para T4 y el T S de 24.03±0.72 L de leche/vaca/día. Analizando la calidad de la leche el contenido de grasa, proteína, solidos, lactosa, densidad, sales y pH no mostraron diferencia significativa en todos los tratamientos con p˃0.05, el T4 presentó un mínimo costo de producción 0.26 dólares/L. En conclusión un óptimo rendimiento al mínimo costo de producción de leche fue con 100 g de probiótico natural en la alimentación de bovinos (Bos Taurus). Se recomienda transferir los resultados obtenidos a nivel de explotaciones lecheras, a fin de utilizar aditivos que permitan obtener mayor producción de leche y de óptima calidad.

          Translated abstract

          The research evaluated the productive behavior of cattle (Bos taurus), due to the addition of the natural probiotic in the feed, which were compared with a control treatment, distributed in a Completely Random Design, evaluating different productive variables during 62 days of dosing. The animals were fed: T S: forage (ray grass) 13 kg MS, concentrate 5 kg as base diet, T1: diet basis plus 25 g natural probiotic, T2: diet basis plus 50 g natural probiotic, T3: diet based plus 75 g natural probiotic, T4: diet based plus 100 g natural probiotic. The pasture administered was 15 kg DM / cow / day and the nutrient quality of the pasture was 26.1% PC, 1.50 NTL Mcal / Kg, 36.4% NDF, 36.4 Mcal / Kg ENM, with respect to the concentrate was offered 5 kg whose nutritive quality was 13.1% PC, 1.72 Mcal / Kg, 13% FDN, 7.7% FDA. The best milk production (P <0.05) was determined with 26.76±0.80L of milk / cow / day for T4 and TS of 24.03±0.72 L of milk / cow / day. Analyzing the quality of the milk, fat, protein, solids, lactose, density, salt and pH did not show significant difference in all treatments with p˃0.05, T4 presented a minimum cost of production of 0.26 dollars/L. In conclusion an excellent yield and minimum cost of milk production was with 100 g of natural probiotic in bovine feed (Bos taurus). It is recommended to transfer the results obtained at the level of dairy farms, in order to use additives that allow to obtain greater production of milk and of optimal quality.

          Effects of a Live Yeast Culture and Enzymes on In Vitro Ruminal Fermentation and Milk Production of Dairy Cows

          Live yeast culture (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) grew best on malt extract agar and required incubation under aerobic conditions to maximize the number of viable cells. In sterile, anaerobic ruminal fluid that had been supplemented with malt extract, yeast cells remained viable and metabolically active for up to 48 h, as indicated by the production of ethanol. A supplement containing live yeast and enzymes was fed twice daily with a diet of 50:50 (wt/wt) forage to concentrate (dry matter basis) to continuous fermentors inoculated with mixed ruminal microorganisms. The supplement had no effect on major fermentation acids or pH. After the last supplement with yeast was fed, numbers of yeast immediately decreased in the fermentors and were not detectable after 24 h. In the first of two lactation experiments, Holstein cows in midlactation were offered a diet with corn silage as the primary forage source. Half of the cows received a top-dressing based on corn that contained 10 g/d of the yeast and enzyme supplement. The supplement had no effect on milk production, milk composition, or dry matter intake. In a second lactation experiment, high producing cows in early lactation were fed 0, 10, and 20 g/d of the supplement. Cows fed the control diet produced 36.4 kg of milk/d, and milk production was 39.3 and 38.0 kg/d from cows fed 10 and 20 g of yeast/d, respectively.
