          Abstract

          La presente investigación, enmarcada dentro del enfoque ontosemiótico de la cognición e instrucción matemática, tiene como objetivo central analizar qué papel juegan los criterios de idoneidad en la argumentación de los profesores cuando valoran la introducción de cambios institucionales en el proceso de instrucción. De manera particular, se ahonda en la valoración de incorporar situaciones contextualizadas al proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las funciones en la asignatura Introducción a la Matemática, que se imparte en la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales de la Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela.

          La présente recherche, encadrée dans l'approche ontosémiotique de la cognition et de l'instruction mathématique, a pour objectif central d'analyser le rôle que les critères d'adéquation jouent dans l'argumentation des enseignants lorsque ils évaluent l'introduction de changements institutionnels dans le processus d'instruction. D'une manière particulière, on approfondit dans l'évaluation d'incorporer des situations contextualisées au processus d'enseignement et d'apprentissage des fonctions dans l'enseignement intitulé : Introduction aux Mathématiques, enseigné dans la Faculté de Sciences Économiques et Sociales de l'Université de Carabobo, Venezuela.

          Translated abstract

          This investigation, within the framework of the ontosemiotic approach to mathematics cognition and instruction, has as its central objective the analysis of the role played by suitability criteria in teachers' arguments when they evaluate the introduction of institutional changes in the teaching process. In particular, it explores in depth the assessment of incorporating contextualized situations into the teaching and learning process of functions in the Introduction to Mathematics course given in the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Carabobo, Venezuela.

          A presente investigação, emoldurada dentro do enfoque ontosemiótico da cognição e instrução matemática, tem como objetivo central analisar que papel jogam os critérios de idoneidade na argumentação dos professores quando valoram a introdução de mudanças institucionais no processo de instrução. De maneira particular, aprofunda-se na valoração de incorporar situações contextualizadas ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem das funções na disciplina Introdução à Matemática, que se ministra na Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas e Sociais da Universidade do Carabobo, Venezuela.
