"Yo no me siento pobre": Percepciones y representaciones de la pobreza

Abstract

Este texto analiza cómo las mujeres del estado de Guerrero perciben y se representan la pobreza. El objetivo es conocer cómo viven sus condiciones de privación, cómo las perciben y construyen representaciones a partir de su experiencia específica como mujeres y desde las relaciones de género. A través de la voz de las mujeres se identifican los procesos cotidianos de la pobreza que pueden deteriorar las relaciones familiares y sociales pero, al mismo tiempo, actuar como factores potenciadores, en el sentido de generadores de estrategias creativas para mitigar los efectos de las condiciones reales.

Translated abstract

This paper analyzes how women in the state of Guerrero perceive and actualize their lives as impoverished persons. The purpose is to find out how these women experience their conditions of deprivation, how they perceive them and construct representations of them based on their experience as women and gender relations. By paying attention to the voices of impoverished women, one can identify the day-to-day processes of poverty that can deteriorate family and social relationships, but also act as powerful agents, generating creative strategies to mitigate the impact of real life conditions.
