Abstract

O objetivo maior deste artigo é trazer à tona uma das mais recorrentes críticas feitas à psicanálise e tentar contestá-la. Um ponto específico, visto como referência negativa da teoria freudiana, diz respeito ao fato de que a escuta pela via do inconsciente, um de seus principais alicerces, não atenderia a determinadas demandas que são emergenciais. Por ser a velocidade uma das características contemporâneas mais contundentes, a temporalidade mais lenta exigida pela teoria, impediria a eficácia da mesma diante da urgência que certas situações clínicas demandam hoje em dia. Esse tipo de alegação cai por terra face ao conceito de pulsão, que subverte, totalmente, esse olhar equivocado sobre o legado de Freud.

Translated abstract

The main objective of this paper is to identify one of the most recurring criticisms about psychoanalysis and to try to contest it. One specific point, which is referred as a weakness in Freudian theory, sticks to the fact that the listening through the unconscious - one of the main pillars of the theory - would not meet certain urgent demands, typical of the contemporary world, where the acceleration of time is patent. Since speed is one of the prominent benchmarks of those times, the slowness required by the psychoanalytical practice would thus hinder its effectiveness. This kind of claim falls flat against the concept of drive, which subverts completely that equivocal perspective on Freud's legacy.
