Resumen El texto parte de una comprensión del uso de mecanismos de democracia directa cómo formas de la política plebiscitaria del populismo contemporáneo. Desde allí se analizan los fundamentos jurídicos y políticos de cuatro consultas ciudadanas (NAIM, Tren Maya, Juicio a Ex Presidentes, Legalización del aborto) desarrolladas por el gobierno mexicano actual. Y se valoran sus posibles efectos para la política democrática en México.
Abstract The text starts from an understanding of the use of direct democracy mechanisms as forms of the plebiscitary politics of contemporary populism. From there, the legal and political foundations of four citizen consultations (NAIM, Mayan Train, Trial of Former Presidents, Legalization of abortion) developed by the current Mexican government are analyzed. Its possible effects for democratic politics in Mexico are assessed.
