            Abstract

Drainage catheters are placed for the percutaneous removal of fluid collections and have been in utilization via image guided placement techniques since the 1970’s¹ As catheter technology has changed over the years without much in the way of objective ways to compare drainage performance, a unique opportunity presented itself to come up with independent and objective parameters to provide validity and efficacy data on drainage catheter performance looking at comparative factors that may effect in vivo performance during drainage procedures.
