          Abstract

A Preliminary report of mapping liquefaction phenomena triggered by the February 6 2023 M7.7 earthquake, Türkiye / Syria, based on remote sensing data. Mapping was based on optical satellite imagery (VHR Maxar imagery, Planet, Copernicus Sentinel-2 and others) and additionally Copernicus Sentinel-1 SAR & UAV orthophotos. We mapped 750 sites with liquefaction and lateral spreading. Due to limitations (snow cover, availability of VHR imagery) current mapping was limited to the M7.7 earthquake along Eastern Anatolian Fault Zone and does not include liquefaction triggered by the M7.6 Ekinözü earthquake
