          Abstract

We report an unusual case of ischiofemoral impingement secondary to valgus intertrochanteric osteotomy. The osteotomy was performed for treatment of epiphysiolysis of the left femoral head.

Femoroacetabular impingement: radiographic diagnosis--what the radiologist should know.

The purpose of this article is to show the important radiographic criteria that indicate the two types of femoroacetabular impingement: pincer and cam impingement. In addition, potential pitfalls in pelvic imaging concerning femoroacetabular impingement are shown. Femoroacetabular impingement is a major cause for early "primary" osteoarthritis of the hip. It can easily be recognized on conventional radiographs of the pelvis and the proximal femur.

Impingement of lesser trochanter on ischium as a potential cause for hip pain.

The bony anatomy of the hip leads to a limited array of impingement syndromes, more frequently resulting from abnormal contact between the femoral neck and acetabulum. We report an unusual case of osseous impingement between the lesser trochanter and ischium, with involvement of the intervening quadratus femoris muscle. While the prevalence and etiology of this finding is unclear, it may represent a cause for hip pain.
