Abstract

Resumen El presente artículo propone un diseño teórico-metodológico para abordar las estructuras espaciales que exhibe el sistema de asentamientos humanos en los territorios provinciales de Cuba. Es una propuesta cimentada en la concepción materialista-sistémica frecuentemente atribuida al espacio geográfico, donde ha sido posible organizar varios niveles analíticos, recortes empíricos, variables, estadígrafos e indicadores indispensables que permitirán descifrar rasgos, trasformaciones y permanencias en una aproximación actualizada de este objeto. Los aportes más sobresalientes se consiguen por la integración de todo un conjunto de constituyentes que requieren ser analizados, así como en la incorporación de nuevos ejes de reflexión desde el impacto de las tecnologías de comunicación que inducen una nueva la lógica de organización geográfica. En ello fue instrumental el principio que reúne las diferentes escalas geográficas, así como la adaptación del moderno enfoque de relaciones en redes, a fin de lograr una modelización teórico-metodológica que pueda ser avalada tanto por sus semejanzas como por sus diferencias, en una búsqueda de singularidades, generalidades y universalidades que, sobre este tema, hoy tienen constante actualización e interpretación en el pensamiento geográfico, urbano y de la planificación territorial de casi todas las sociedades del mundo.

Abstract This article proposes a theoretical-methodological design to address the spatial structures exhibited by the human settlement system in the provincial territories of Cuba. It is a proposal based on the materialist-systemic conception frequently attributed to geographic space, where it has been possible to organize several analytical levels, empirical cuts, variables, statistics and indispensable indicators that will allow deciphering features, transformations and permanence in an updated approach to this object. The most outstanding contributions are achieved by the integration of a whole set of constituents that need to be necessarily analyzed, as well as the incorporation of new lines of reflection from the impact of communication technologies that induce a new logic of geographical organization. In this, the principle that brings together the different geographical scales was instrumental, as well as the adaptation of the modern approach to relationships in networks, in order to achieve a theoretical-methodological modeling that can be endorsed both by their similarities and their differences, in a search of singularities, generalities and universals that, on this subject, are constantly updated and interpreted today in the geographical, urban and territorial planning thinking of almost all societies in the world.
