      Representaciones sociales de Enrique Peña Nieto, candidato a la presidencia de México 2012-2018, en la prensa escrita

          Abstract

          El propósito de este artículo es develar las representaciones sociales que se proyectaron en la prensa escrita acerca de Enrique Peña Nieto, candidato presidencial del Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), en tres diarios mexicanos de circulación nacional: El Universal, La Jornada y Reforma, los cuales tienen líneas editoriales distintas y confrontadas entre sí. A partir del análisis de los titulares y las notas sobre ciertos acontecimientos en el transcurso de las precampañas y campañas del 2012, se identifican las diferentes representaciones que los diarios seleccionados hicieron circular sobre el candidato del PRI. El análisis muestra cómo cada diario construyó una representación diferente acorde con su línea editorial.

          Translated abstract

          The purpose of this article is to identify the social representations of Enrique Peña Nieto, presidential candidate of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), that were projected in the written press in three Mexican newspaper of national circulation: El Universal, La Jornada and Reforma which have different and confronted editorial lines. Through the analysis of the news headlines and stories on certain events in the course of the pre-campaigns and campaigns of the presidential election of 2012, the different representations of the PRI candidate that the selected newspapers circulated are identified. The analysis shows that each newspaper built a different representation of the politician according to its editorial line.
