          Abstract

          O presente estudo avaliou as relações entre os construtos qualidade de vida no trabalho e confiança na organização. Participaram da pesquisa 264 trabalhadores, os quais responderam dois instrumentos psicométricos: a Escala de Avaliação da Qualidade de vida no trabalho - Escala-QVT (Rueda, 2013) e a Escala de Confiança do Empregado na Organização - ECEO (Oliveira & Tamayo, 2008). Os dados foram analisados por meio de análises fatoriais confirmatórias em modelagem por equação estrutural. Foram demonstradas evidências de validade convergente para o modelo de mensuração de ambos os instrumentos separadamente. As relações entre os dois construtos foram investigadas em um modelo de covariação entre os fatores dos dois instrumentos. As correlações tetha entre os fatores latentes de Escala-QVT e da ECEO indicaram forte associação entre os construtos, de modo que em alguns fatores da Escala-QVT e da ECEO os construtos avaliados são praticamente os mesmos.

          Translated abstract

          This study evaluates the relationships between the constructs quality of life at work and trust in the organization. The study included 264 workers, who answered two psychometric instruments: the Rating Scale of Quality of Life at Work - QWL-Scale (Rueda, 2013) and the Scale of Employee Confidence in the Organization - ECEO (Oliveira & Tamayo, 2008). Data was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis in structural equation modeling. There was demonstrated evidence of convergent validity for the measurement model of both instruments separately. The relationships between the two constructs were investigated in a model of covariance between the factors of the two instruments. The correlations between latent factors of the QWL-Scale and the ECEO indicated a strong association between the constructs, such that, in some of the factors of the QWL-Scale and the ECEO, the constructs assessed are virtually the same.

          Trust and distrust in organizations: emerging perspectives, enduring questions.

          Scholarly interest in the study of trust and distrust in organizations has grown dramatically over the past five years. This interest has been fueled, at least in part, by accumulating evidence that trust has a number of important benefits for organizations and their members. A primary aim of this review is to assess the state of this rapidly growing literature. The review examines recent progress in conceptualizing trust and distrust in organizational theory, and also summarizes evidence regarding the myriad benefits of trust within organizational systems. The review also describes different forms of trust found in organizations, and the antecedent conditions that produce them. Although the benefits of trust are well-documented, creating and sustaining trust is often difficult. Accordingly, the chapter concludes by examining some of the psychological, social, and institutional barriers to the production of trust.
