          Abstract

          RESUMO O debate social na escola é indispensável para uma educação integral, crítica e emancipadora. No entanto, sensibilizar os estudantes é essencial para abordar questões sociais de forma dialógica, diminuindo as resistências ao debate. A partir da reflexão de Grada Kilomba, do ponto de vista psíquico, sobre tais resistências, o trabalho adotou a Caminhada do Privilégio (PW) como estratégia de aproximação ao debate da desigualdade social na escola. Foram investigados: auto percepção da posição social dos estudantes, dimensões emocionais da PW, sinceridade na PW e impactos da PW na percepção dos estudantes sobre a desigualdade social. A posição final na PW se correlacionou com a auto percepção social. A magnitude das diferenças e os fatores relacionados desencadearam, de forma empática, percepções e reflexões sociais importantes.

          Translated abstract

          ABSTRACT The social debate at school is essential for an integral, critical and emancipatory education. However, motivating students is essential to address social issues in a dialogic way, reducing resistance to debate. Based on Grada Kilomba’s reflection, from a psychological point of view on such resistances, this paper adopted the Privilege Walk (PW) as a strategy to approach the debate on social inequality at school. The following were investigated: self-perception of students’ social position, PW’s emotional dimensions, sincerity in PW and PW’s impacts on students’ perception about social inequality. Final position in PW correlated with social self-perception. The magnitude of the differences and the related factors empathically triggered important social perceptions and considerations.
