Abstract

RESUMEN El presente ARTÍCULOS revisa y analiza las estrategias neologizantes desplegadas en torno a la sexualidad y la díada cuerpo/alma, en los tres diccionarios coloniales para el mapu-dungun de Chile, entendiéndolos como artefactos que despliegan estrategias interven cionistas sobre la lengua indígena, en concordancia con el objetivo de la evangelización y el consecuente disciplinamiento de los cuerpos. Los diccionarios bilingües estudiados son abordados como prácticas sociales discursivas, por lo que presentan los rasgos de historicidad, heteroglosia y argumentatividad, que modulan y diferencian sus estra tegias de intervención a partir de la red de discursos en que se inscribe su momento histórico.

Translated abstract

ABSTRACT This article reviews and analyses the neologistic strategies developed in the three colo nial Chilean dictionaries of Mapudungun concerning sexuality and the body/soul dyad. The dictionaries are understood as artefacts which employed interventionist strate gies with regard to the native language. These strategies responded to the objectives of evangelisation and the consequent disciplining of bodies. The bilingual dictionaries are viewed as discursive social practices and we remark their historicity, heteroglossia and argumentative capacity, which model and distinguish their intervention strategies from the discursive network related to a specific historical moment.
