          Abstract

          Se da a conocer todo el proceso tecnológico de la alfarería tradicional en el actual pueblo de Toconce, situado en las quebradas altas de la provincia de El Loa, II Región, norte de Chile. Además se complementa este conocimiento con el registro de formas cerámicas tradicionales, el contexto de uso actual y su función. Se resalta la importancia de realizar este tipo de estudio en zonas donde se han documentado diversas formas la continuidad cultural

          Translated abstract

          I describe the entire technological process involved in the manufacture of traditional pottery in Toconce. This village is located in the highlands of Loa Province, Region II in northern Chile. This information is complemented with the records of traditional ceramic shapes, the context of their actual use and their functionality. I emphasize the importance of making this kind of study in areas with cultural continuity
