      LOS EFECTOS DE LA TELEVISIÓN SOBRE EL COMPORTAMIENTO DE LAS AUDIENCIAS JÓVENES DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DE LA CONVERGENCIA Y DE LAS PRÁCTICAS CULTURALES

          Abstract

          La relación existente entre el consumo de televisión y el comportamiento de los niños y adolescentes ha sido un tópico de interés para las diferentes ciencias implicadas en el análisis e intervención sobre el comportamiento social colectivo. Aunque no existe una respuesta definitiva, la evidencia demuestra que la televisión posee efectos importantes sobre la conducta agresiva, pero subsisten interrogantes respecto a las condiciones bajo las cuales se presentan dichos efectos. Dado que se trata de un fenómeno social global, la relación entre el medio televisivo y el comportamiento de las audiencias trasciende el análisis e intervención de la conducta individual, de forma que se hace necesario emplear un marco más integrador e interdisciplinario para explicar y predecir los efectos. De tal forma, este artículo revisa la evidencia a favor de la hipótesis de efectos nocivos de la televisión, muestra un marco más integrador para comprender el efecto del medio televisivo desde la perspectiva de las prácticas culturales y explica los efectos sociales de la televisión a partir del análisis de la convergencia.

          Translated abstract

          The existing relation between the consumption of television and the behavior of the children and adolescents has been a topic of interest for different sciences implied in the analysis and intervention on the collective social behavior. Although a definitive answer does not exist, the evidence demonstrates that television has important effects on the aggressive behavior, but questions subsist about the conditions under which these effects appear. Since one is a global social phenomenon, the relation between televising media and the behavior of the viewers extends the analysis and intervention of the individual behavior, so that it becomes necessary to use a more integrating and interdisciplinary frame to explain and to predict the effects. Of such form, this article reviews the positive evidence of the hypothesis of injurious effects of the television, shows a more integrating frame to include and understand the effect of televising media from the perspective of the cultural practices and explains the social effects of the television from the analysis of the convergence.
