          Abstract

          Resumen Este artículo aborda tensiones y desafíos para la implementación de la educación intercultural en contexto de educación técnica profesional en Chile. Argumentamos que, producto de la idea de progreso técnico-científico, la educación técnica profesional, ha instalado una racionalidad instrumental que gobierna y domina las mentes de quienes comparten este escenario, derribando la posibilidad de construir aprendizajes desde una perspectiva de pluralidad. Como medida contrahegemónica, proponemos un modelo de aprendizaje reflexivo para los actores del medio educativo y social, que permita relevar el enfoque de interculturalidad como medio para alcanzar la construcción de aprendizajes situados, contextualizados y la búsqueda de una identidad de colaboración entre actores del medio educativo y social. La metodología empleada es la investigación educativa y un procedimiento de análisis de contenido. Concluimos que, tanto la política educativa como el currículum escolar y la escuela técnica profesional, sólo han causado el encierro de la comunidad educativa técnica profesional en una identidad fija e inmutable al no considerar el contexto social y cultural de sus miembros. Revertir este problema, requiere adoptar con urgencia un enfoque educativo en perspectiva intercultural y la idea de una nueva educación intercultural técnico profesional.

          Translated abstract

          Abstract This article addresses the tensions and challenges for the incorporation of intercultural education in the context of professional technical education in Chile. We argue that as a product of the idea of technical-scientific progress in professional technical education, an instrumental rationality has been installed that governs and dominates the minds of those who share this scenario, demolishing the possibility of building learning from a perspective of intercultural exchange. As a counter-hegemonic measure, we propose a reflective learning model for educational and social environment actors that allows interculturality to be revealed as a means to achieve situated learning, contextualized learning, and the search for a collaborative identity. The methodology used is educational research and a content analysis procedure. We conclude that both the educational policy and the school curriculum, as well as the professional technical school, have only caused the closure of the professional technical educational community in a fixed and immutable identity by not considering the social and cultural context of its members. Reversing this problem requires urgently adopting an educational approach from an intercultural perspective and the idea of a new technical-professional intercultural education.
