          Abstract

          RESUMO Objetivo compreender o uso de tecnologias em saúde e redes sociais virtuais no quotidiano de profissionais da Atenção Primária à Saúde e de unidades de referência na pandemia de COVID-19. Métodos estudo de casos múltiplos integrado-qualitativo, fundamentado na Sociologia Compreensiva do Quotidiano, com 47 profissionais. Resultados a tecnossocialidade se faz presente no dia a dia de profissionais, com avanços durante a pandemia de COVID-19. O uso de tecnologias em saúde e redes sociais virtuais facilita: a comunicação entre os profissionais e a gestão, profissionais e usuários; o acesso a materiais educativos; o agendamento de consultas e exames; o esclarecimento de dúvidas durante o atendimento; e o monitoramento de casos suspeitos e confirmados de COVID-19. A elaboração do protocolo para organizar o trabalho com o uso do aparelho celular é uma necessidade. Há carência de apoio da gestão e de infraestrutura para a utilização da tecnossocialidade pelos profissionais. Conclusão e implicações para a prática a pandemia impulsionou a utilização da tecnossocialidade no quotidiano de profissionais e serviços de saúde. As tecnologias em saúde e redes sociais virtuais representam uma alternativa para a continuidade do cuidado e o monitoramento de pacientes com COVID-19.

          RESUMEN Objetivo comprender el uso de las tecnologías sanitarias y las redes sociales virtuales en el cotidiano de los profesionales y unidades de referencia de la Atención Primaria de Salud en la pandemia de la COVID-19. Métodos estudio de caso múltiple integrado-cualitativo, basado en la Sociología Integral de la Vida Cotidiana, con 47 profesionales. Resultados la tecnosocialidad está presente en el cotidiano de los profesionales con avances durante la pandemia del COVID-19. El uso de las tecnologías sanitarias y las redes sociales virtuales facilitan: la comunicación entre profesionales y la dirección, profesionales y usuarios; el acceso a materiales educativos; la programación de citas y exámenes; la aclaración de dudas durante el servicio; el seguimiento de casos sospechosos y confirmados de COVID-19. La elaboración del protocolo para organizar el trabajo con el uso del celular es una necesidad. Falta apoyo de gestión e infraestructura para el uso de la tecnosocialidad por parte de los profesionales. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica la pandemia impulsó el uso de la tecnosocialidad en el cotidiano de los profesionales y servicios de salud. Las tecnologías de la salud y las redes sociales virtuales representan una alternativa para la continuidad de la atención y seguimiento de los pacientes con COVID-19.

          ABSTRACT Objective to understand the use of health technologies and virtual social networks in Primary Health Care professionals’ daily lives and reference units in the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods an integrated-qualitative multiple case study, based on the Comprehensive Sociology of Everyday Life, with 47 professionals. Results technosociality is present in professionals’ daily lives, with advances during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of health technologies and virtual social networks facilitate: communication between professionals and management, professionals and users; access to educational materials; scheduling appointments and exams; clarification of doubts during the service; monitoring of suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19. The protocol elaboration to organize work with the use of cell phone is a necessity. There is a lack of management support and infrastructure for the use of technosociality by professionals. Conclusion and implications for practice The pandemic boosted the use of technosociality in health professionals’ and services’ daily lives. Health technologies and virtual social networks represent an alternative for continuity of care and monitoring of patients with COVID-19.

          YouTube as a source of information on COVID-19: a pandemic of misinformation?

          Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic is this century’s largest public health emergency and its successful management relies on the effective dissemination of factual information. As a social media platform with billions of daily views, YouTube has tremendous potential to both support and hinder public health efforts. However, the usefulness and accuracy of most viewed YouTube videos on COVID-19 have not been investigated. Methods A YouTube search was performed on 21 March 2020 using keywords ‘coronavirus’ and ‘COVID-19’, and the top 75 viewed videos from each search were analysed. Videos that were duplicates, non-English, non-audio and non-visual, exceeding 1 hour in duration, live and unrelated to COVID-19 were excluded. Two reviewers coded the source, content and characteristics of included videos. The primary outcome was usability and reliability of videos, analysed using the novel COVID-19 Specific Score (CSS), modified DISCERN (mDISCERN) and modified JAMA (mJAMA) scores. Results Of 150 videos screened, 69 (46%) were included, totalling 257 804 146 views. Nineteen (27.5%) videos contained non-factual information, totalling 62 042 609 views. Government and professional videos contained only factual information and had higher CSS than consumer videos (mean difference (MD) 2.21, 95% CI 0.10 to 4.32, p=0.037); mDISCERN scores than consumer videos (MD 2.46, 95% CI 0.50 to 4.42, p=0.008), internet news videos (MD 2.20, 95% CI 0.19 to 4.21, p=0.027) and entertainment news videos (MD 2.57, 95% CI 0.66 to 4.49, p=0.004); and mJAMA scores than entertainment news videos (MD 1.21, 95% CI 0.07 to 2.36, p=0.033) and consumer videos (MD 1.27, 95% CI 0.10 to 2.44, p=0.028). However, they only accounted for 11% of videos and 10% of views. Conclusion Over one-quarter of the most viewed YouTube videos on COVID-19 contained misleading information, reaching millions of viewers worldwide. As the current COVID-19 pandemic worsens, public health agencies must better use YouTube to deliver timely and accurate information and to minimise the spread of misinformation. This may play a significant role in successfully managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

            The Role of Social Media in the Advent of COVID-19 Pandemic: Crisis Management, Mental Health Challenges and Implications

            Background This study focuses on how educating people through social media platforms can help reduce the mental health consequences of the COVID-19 to manage the global health crisis. The pandemic has posed a global mental health crisis, and correct information is indispensable to dispel uncertainty, fear, and mental stress to unify global communities in collective combat against COVID-19 disease worldwide. Mounting studies specified that manifestly endless coronavirus-related newsfeeds and death numbers considerably increased the risk of global mental health issues. Social media provided positive and negative data, and the COVID-19 has resulted in a worldwide infodemic. It has eroded public trust and impeded virus restraint, which outlived the coronavirus pandemic itself. Methods The study incorporated the narrative review analysis based on the existing literature related to mental health problems using the non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) approach to minimize the COVID-19 adverse consequences on global mental health. The study performed a search of the electronic databases available at PsycINFO, PubMed, and LISTA. This research incorporates the statistical data related to the COVID-19 provided by the WHO, John Hopkins University, and Pakistani Ministry of Health. Results Pakistan reported the second-highest COVID-19 cases within South Asia, the fifth-highest number of cases in Asia after Iran, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the 14th highest recorded cases, as of October 14, 2020. Pakistan effectively managed the COVID-19 pandemic in the second wave. It stands at the eighth-highest number of confirmed cases in Asia, the 3rd-highest in South Asia, and the 28th-highest number of established patients globally, as of February20, 2021. Conclusion The COVID-19 has resulted in over 108.16 million confirmed cases, deaths over 2.374 million, and a recovery of 80.16 million people worldwide, as of February 12, 2021. This study focused on exploring the COVID-19 pandemic’s adverse effects on global public health and the indispensable role of social media to provide the correct information in the COVID-19 health crisis. The findings’ generalizability offers helpful insight for crisis management and contributes to the scientific literature. The results might provide a stepping-stone for conduct future empirical studies by including other factors to conclude exciting developments.

              Qualidade da Atenção Primária à Saúde no Brasil: avanços, desafios e perspectivas

              RESUMO O ensaio reúne avanços, problemas e propostas sobre a qualidade da Atenção Básica no Brasil, com ênfase na integralidade do cuidado, expressa na completude das ações de saúde. Estudos sobre acesso e qualidade da Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) evidenciam avanços na ampliação das coberturas da ESF e do acesso da população, na melhoria da estrutura dos serviços, na provisão de médicos e na cobertura de ações de saúde. Persistem problemas de estrutura, com destaque para a disponibilidade de insumos essenciais e de tecnologias de informação e comunicação. A organização e a gestão dos serviços e a prática profissional das equipes padecem de um problema sistêmico de incompletude da oferta de ações e de cuidados de saúde, apesar dos padrões de referência, diretrizes, metas e protocolos. Propõe-se a universalização do modelo de atenção da ESF no Brasil com garantias de aportes na estrutura dos serviços de equipes completas com médicos, enfermeiros, dentistas, técnicos de enfermagem e Agentes Comunitários de Saúde com dedicação integral. Programas de educação permanente, institucionalização de práticas de monitoramento e avaliação em equipes locais e a realização de 'mutirões de qualidade' estimulam a melhoria sistêmica da qualidade da ESF no Brasil, contribuindo para a redução das desigualdades em saúde.
