          Abstract

          In ulcerative colitis (UC) the colonic mucosa shows, in addition to a high number of inflammatory cells, crypts with architectural distortions, called corrupted colonic crypts (CCC). Here we classify the histologic repertoire and assess the frequency of CCC in UC.
