The first observation of the decay Ξ−b → ψ(2S)Ξ− and measurement of the branching ratio of Ξ−b → ψ(2S)Ξ− to Ξ−b → J/ψ$\Xi^-arepresented.TheJ/\psiand\psi(2S)mesonsarereconstructedusingtheirdimuondecaymodes.Theresultsarebasedonproton−protoncollidingbeamdatafromtheLHCcollectedbytheCMSexperimentat\sqrt{s}=13TeVin2016−2018,correspondingtoanintegratedluminosityof140fb^{-1}.Thebranchingfractionratioismeasuredtobe\mathcal{B}(\Xi^-_\mathrm{b}\to\psi(2S)\Xi^-)/\mathcal{B}(\Xi^-_\mathrm{b}\toJ/\psi\Xi^-)=0.84^{+0.21}_{-0.19}(stat)\pm0.10(syst)\pm0.02(\mathcal{B}),wherethelastuncertaintycomesfromtheuncertaintiesinthebranchingfractionsofthecharmoniumstates.Newmeasurementsofthe\Xi_\mathrm{b}^{\ast{}0}baryonmassandnaturalwidtharealsopresented,usingthe\Xi_\mathrm{b}^-\pi^+finalstate,wherethe\Xi^-_\mathrm{b}baryonisreconstructedthroughthedecaysJ/\psi \Xi^-,\psi(2S)\Xi^-,J/\psi \LambdaK^-,andJ/\psi \Sigma^0K^-.Finally,thefractionofthe\Xi^-_\mathrm{b}baryonsproducedfrom\Xi_\mathrm{b}^{\ast{}0}$ decays is determined.
