          Abstract

          Translated abstract

The entrepreneur and their role in the historical development of Western capitalist societies has been the object of analysis of several classical methodologies of Social Sciences. With the advent of neoliberalism, however, the entrepreneur came to be reframed as a core component of a new way of life, marked by a worker that is proactive, creative, communicative, and, above all, takes risks and self-manages their actions at work and in their personal life. Since then, the figure of the entrepreneur is no longer identified with that of the owner-entrepreneur-owner, but rather with the entrepreneur of himself. By seeking to identify the core elements that make up the practices and discourses on entrepreneurship, especially the role of education and labor, our main goal is to introduce a discussion on entrepreneurship as a form of contemporary Americanism. To this end, we argue that the entrepreneur of the self would constitute a neoliberal way of living and describe the consequences of its consolidation for the working class.
