Abstract

RESUMEN El emprendimiento en Cuba, aunque no representa un fenómeno nuevo, sí ha recibido un notable impulso por parte del Estado a partir de la reforma económica que tuvo lugar en el país en el año 2008. En estos momentos, si bien se reconoce el importante papel que desempeñan los trabajadores por cuenta propia para ayudar a estimular el crecimiento económico nacional, todavía persisten limitaciones e inconsistencias que frenan el desarrollo adecuado de estas formas de gestión. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo lograr un acercamiento a las condiciones actuales en las que operan los emprendimientos privados en Cuba, a fin de identificar los principales obstáculos a los que se enfrentan.

ABSTRACT Entrepreneurship in Cuba, although not a new phenomenon, has received a significant boost from the State since the economic reform that took place in the country in 2008. At present, although the important role played by self-employed workers in helping to stimulate national economic growth is recognized, there are still limitations and inconsistencies that hinder the proper development of these forms of management. The present article aims at achieving an approach to the current conditions under which private enterprises operate in Cuba, in order to identify the main obstacles they face.
