Abstract

Se realiza un estudio prospectivo sobre la detección de sepsis nosocomial en el Servicio de Ortopedia y Traumatología del Hospital General Docente "Comandante Pinares", de San Cristóbal, Pinar del Río, en el plazo de un año. Se estudiaron 802 egresos, de los cuales fueron operados 688 y se encontraron 14 pacientes con sepsis a nivel local (herida quirúrgica) y 19 con sepsis en otras localizaciones. Se detectaron pobres resultados finales en el 64,2 % de los pacientes con sepsis nosocomiales locales y del 23,0 % en aquéllos con sepsis nosocomial en otras localizaciones. Se establecieron tasas de infección aceptables, entre las que se destaca la tasa de infección por herida limpia del 2,4 %. La conclusión más representativa es que las sepsis nosocomiales constituyen un daño irreversible y/o secuelas permanentes en ortopedia.

On a réalisé une étude prospective sur la détection de la sepsie nosocomiale dans le Service d'Orthopédie et Traumatologie de l'Hôpital Général Universitaire "Comandante Pinares" de San Cristóbal, Pinar del Río, dans le terme d'une année. On a étudié 802 patients sortis dont 688 ont été opérés et 14 avaient sepsie au niveau local (blessure chirurgicale) et 19 avec sepsie dans d'autres localisations. On a détecté des résultats finals pauvres chez 64,2 % des patients avec sepsie nosocomiale locale et chez 23,0 % des patients avec sepsie nosocomiale dans d'autres localisations. On avait des taux d'infections acceptables parmi lesquelles se distinguent le taux d'infection par blessure propre de 2,4 %. Les sepsies nosocomiales sont un dommage irréversible et de séquelles permanentes en orthopédie.

A one-year prospective study on the detection of hospital sepsis was conducted at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the "Comandante Pinares" General Teaching Hospital in San Cristóbal, Pinar del Río. Of the 802 discharged patients studied 688 of them had been operated on. 14 patients had sepsis at the local level (surgical wound); whereas 19 had it in other localizations. Poor final results were found in 64,2 % of the patients with local hospital sepsis and in 23,0 % of those with hospital sepsis in other localizations. Acceptable infections rates were established among which the rate of infection by clean wound of 2,4 % stood out. The most important conclusion is that hospital sepsis cause an irreversible damage and/or permanent sequelas in orthopedics.
