By functionalizing the surface of PEG-liposomes with linkers bearing quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs), one can generate novel bacteria disruptors with anti-adhesive properties and reduced cytotoxicity compared to free QACs. Furthermore, QAC-functionalized liposomes are a promising platform for future drug encapsulation.
